Expressions of interest for Te Rōpū Kaitiaki 2026

Whaikaha - The Ministry of Disabled People is calling for expressions of interest to be a member of Te Rōpū Kaitiaki.

Appointments are for terms up to 3 years.

What Te Rōpū Kaitiaki does

Te Rōpū Kaitiaki advises the NZSL Board on how to improve outcomes for Turi Māori.

The Turi Māori community provides advice to Te Rōpū Kaitiaki and Whaikaha who then develop and regularly review an action plan of projects. 

Members meet a minimum of four times a year to discuss the action plan. The group also meets with other organisations to influence better outcomes for Turi Māori

How to make an expression of interest

Please include the following documents and video to complete an expression of interest.

  1. A completed Rōpū Kaitiaki application form
  2. A completed Police vetting ID form
  3. Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  4. A video submission (3 minutes) to:
  • introduce yourself
  • describe current issues affecting Turi Māori.
